Truly delicious go to curry dish. To make vegetarian, just leave out the beef.
Fragrant Curry on Rice
Boneless beef stew meat
Optionally, for non-vegetarian version, slice the
2 pounds Boneless beef stew meat
into 1 inch squares. Heat large pot to medium high, and add vegetable oil. Brown beef on all sides and set aside.
Chop finely the
Mince, or grate, the
Heat large pot to medium high heat. Add
3 tbsp Vegetable oil
and the chopped onion.
Saute onions until tender and browned, about 7 minutes.
Add to pot the chopped garlic, as well as the
1 Cinnamon stick
1 Bay leaf
and stir for one minute.
Add to pot the chopped tomatoes, as well as the
1.5 cup Whole milk
2 tbsp Lemon juice
2 tbsp Ginger, minced
1.5 tbsp Curry powder
Bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer, stirring occasionally, 10 minutes to 2 hours.
2 cup Jasmine rice
Serve curry over rice.
